Dad took a few mugshots before shaving off his beard. I grew it out to be in the school play of MacBeth. I had three short scenes at the beginning as King Duncan (the one who gets murdered by MacBeth, which makes Macbeth king and starts his downward spiral). If you are interested, you can watch the web-streamed version online https://new.livestream.com/tasislugano.
King Duncan
The Beard
A fun stache for a day
Then clean shaven to start fresh on the 11th, a few days behind my mo bros. Pictures to come.
Lily really, really likes her sister. "sis-ter" is one of the only words she knows ... and it is probably the word she says most. She sits down on the floor and holds out her hands, saying that she wants to hold the baby (like below). When you are holding the baby, she pats the couch and says "sit" excitedly because she wants to sit with you and baby. When Chloe is in the swing, lily leans over the swing and just stays there with her elbows resting on the sides of Chloe's legs, stairing at her sisters face ... and then giving her a few kisses.
Lily likes to check out Chloe in detail. She is looking at her hands and finding it very interesting.
... and the face is so interesting too
Our friend here, Carolyn Warner, knit Chloe a quilted blanket which Lily immediately went bonkers for. Carolyn then took the time to knit Lily a miniature one for her baby doll (which Lily plays with non-stop when she can't touch and hold her real sister). Lily is good at trying to put the blanket on the baby.
Here is a video of her trying ...
... and then she gets a little distracted ...
... and then some time with her real sister again ... and again, only one baby can smile at a time, those are the rules
... and then after we take Chloe away, it's back to taking care of her other sister ... first some Chapstick to make sure your lips don't get too dry ...
Awww, then hugs because that's what big sisters are for
... and then if her doll isn't around, Lily is just as happy taking care of her Tahoe bear
... and then when Chloe starts feeding, Lily runs over, slaps her hand down on the couch excitedly, says "sit! sit!" and raises her arms in the air to be picked up. She then watches very closely as Lily feeds.
... and then time to softly, gently touch the baby. Lily is very gentle and Chloe loves it. Chloe really does stop crying when Lily comes close to her and starts talking. Usually as soon as Chloe starts crying, Lily immediately shoots bolt upright and says with a schocked look on her face, "Oh no!" ... which is then followed by her running towards Chloe pointing and looking at us, saying "sis-ter, sis-ter"
Oh, it's just a normal day back at the house ... every one wakes up slowly
Then we start by cleaning up in our pajamas
... and then of course we mess it up a bit
... and then we can't quite figure out if we are cleaning or messing up by pouring water all over and playing in it. Lily has figured out that pressing the nipple of her sippy cup into the ground opens it and water pours out. So of course that is her favorite thing to do after asking for "agua, agua, agua, agua ..." She very cutely touches the tip of her nose with her finger and repeats agua when she wants water.
...and then we pose for our stylish photo of the day
... and then we get dressed. Lily loves this part. She will grab her own clothes and put her arms out one by one to get dressed. Then once she is dressed, she runs over to the top of the steps to show it off to her mom. She goes 'rawr' and laughs, and everyone in the living room is very impressed with her outfit.
... and then it is time to cuddle with sister for a bit
...and then play time ..
... and then it is nap time. We can cuddle with sister while we drink some milk and have a story read to us. Lily loves her stories.
...and then nap time for both sisters. Here are the many faces of Chloe sleeping.
... and then some more cuddle time. They are both wearing their matching owl shirts. Now of course, in case you don't have kids, the way a "camera" works ... is that when you take it out, the kids agree that only one will smile at a time. See, first Lily can smile and look around while Chloe makes silly faces ...
... and then Chloe can look forward and start to smile ... while Lily hides her face
Here is Lily on a walk with her grandma, with a nice Swiss autumn background. She is looking adorable.
... and you know, just dancing down the street ... swingin' down the street
... and then back to guarding sister, which is a 24/7 job.
Awwww, grandma and her new granddaughter
Hey-oh! Chloe's awake and waving people down. "Over here! Over here!"
... and then we went for a walk downtown, and grandma treated us all to a great meal at the Irish pub. We'll miss grandma Leslie. Too bad she couldn't quit her job and stay for the year.
Chloe sleeps really well in her carseat. So after a feeding, I often put her in the carseat and carry her around so that she falls asleep. Lily however, chases me around and pushes the carseat to the ground so that she can kiss and hug her sister. This is non-stop. It is adorable and super sweet and frustrating all at the same time.
Lily is freaking adorable. She goes to the kitchen and politely signs for crackers (I didn't catch this on camera as she just pointed to them on her 4th trip). She hands me her bowl, which I fill with crackers (cheerios) and hand back. She then excitedly holds her bowl with two hands so that it doesn't spill and walks it over to her stoop. She then backs up to her step and sits down so that she can eat her crackers. She will do this over and over (about 4 or 5 trips). When I took out the camera, she did this and then came up to give the camera kisses (she just kisses everything now).
