Jenna's Story - Lily's Day Out (Oct. 12th, 2013)

Jenna's Story - Lily's Day Out

While things were developing at the hospital down the street, Lily was having quite the day with Jenna. Here is the story as we received it by text ... in Jenna's words ...

First we played. Then We were watching Sesame Street like this

but then this happened....
For about an hour and a half. Now we are going to have lunch. But she's happy and signing eat
Lunch time fun. She signed banana, eat & water.

Yay!!!! We are practicing saying sister over here. Sun is shining so we are going out for a walk.
Hi mama! I just got home from the park at Hadsall. This is the face I made when Jenna suggested we go so I can find a rich boyfriend since you will be busy with my sister for awhile.
I couldn't decide which pair of shoes to wear so I let my magic ball decide.

When we got there I practiced being cute by riding on the swing.

Then I practiced my agriculture skills by playing in the dirt.

Then, hoping some boys were peering out the windows watching me I showed off my balancing skillz.

My beautiful smile finally brought out ((a student)). He tried to play with me and asked me to sign his form. But I was too shy so I hid in Jenna's legs and she signed it for both of us. Since I was being shy he left and I went back to being my fun self.

It was cold so Jenna put my hat on. I wasn't too sure about it so I took some selfies to make sure I was still stylin.
Here's some pretty clouds.
Then I showed my nature skillz but playing in the grass. But Jenna wouldn't let me eat any.

I tried to make friends with this hedgehog who randomly appeared but this time he was the one who was shy.
So we came home and now I'm playing with my ball again. I'm in a great mood and have been very good for Jenna. She says not to worry, we are only going to have a few boys over to drink grandma and daddy's wine.

Chloe's Birthday (Oct. 12th, 2013)

So ... at about 4am, Lauren started feeling a little pain ... and feeling a little funny ... but kept this to herself. Lauren, Lily and Dad headed down to breakfast around 8:30 at the dining hall. All of a sudden, mom takes the keys and says she feels funny and she is going home. Dad knows what's happening. Dad packs up Lily and all the gear and climbs the mountain to the house, where mom is lying on the couch in pain ... hmmmm, obvious signs. In the next hour, the babysitter is called, the hospital is called, bags are packed, showers are taken.

Here is Lily's babysitter Jenna

... and grandma is practically glowing

... and dad is excited ... I tried to take a picture of the elusive mother, for which I got yelled at by Lauren and then told for the umpteenth time that this is the part where mom thinks nothing is funny and is really angry (she won't think this is funny either, haha)

Here is the view from our hotel room hospital room

... and some final pictures of the preggo mother! I got a shot or two in between contractions.

Lookin' good!

... and then BAM! Baby! Ok, it wasn't that immediate, but one minute it's just Lauren and I and then all of a sudden there's this other little person ... eyes open, looking around, seemingly smiling ... I guess she'll just be around for, you know, the rest of our lives, no biggy

Mother and daughter minutes after birth

... and then they took her away to wash her, check all of her vitals, etc etc ... and here she is after she was brought back to use, all clean and with her black Ecuadorian hair nice and combed

... then grandma got to meet her new granddaughter for the first time (only one person was allowed to be in the room with Lauren during the delivery)

Awwww

Final Days Before Chloe (Oct. 9th-11th, 2013)

I know we are skipping ahead about a month in the blog because I have been a terrible parent and I have fallen behind ... I will catch up! Here are a few pictures of the final days leading up to Chloe's birth.

Here is Lily playing with her sister. She is giving Chloe what must have been SUPER loud echoing rasberries.

... and then getting to play with some of her new toys before her sister comes and takes them all

... and then there was a big storm and it snows on the Apline peaks around us ... here was the view we woke up to from our living room ...

... and then the sun came out ...

... and then selfies!!

Lake Como (August 25, 2013)

Heading to Como for the Day

Here is Lily at our apartment, getting ready for a full day out. We drove about 30-50min to a small town called Cernobio on Lake Como.

Some fancy Italian houses and steeples ...

... and then we found a park, which Lily was a huge fan of!

... and then Lily learned to go down a slide for the first time. Here she is doing it all on her own.

... then we went for a nice walk next to Lake Como

... and then we had an awesome meal in Italy (PIZZA!) to celebrate Lauren's late birthday as her real birthday was the Monday that was our first day of work in Switzerland (not too exciting and very busy)

Lily loves the meal is was acting it up

... Lily does not approve ...

... and then crazy baby!
